In the wake of Trump’s return to Twitter, many have slowly shifted away from the former president’s social media platform, Truth Social. This didn’t go unnoticed by dozens of political commentators.
During an episode of his “War Room” podcast, media executive and political strategist Steve Bannon shed criticism on Trump’s continued use of Truth Social.
He argued the platform just isn’t cutting it anymore and Trump should focus on combating Biden’s policies instead.
Bannon advises Trump to focus on policy battles, instead of social media banter
The episode touched on the topic of the “omnibus” spending bill negotiations that are currently happening in Congress; if the bill is passed, government agencies would continue to receive funding until September 30th, 2023.

The Democrats, on the other hand, want to pass a bill worth $1.5 trillion by December 16th when the current funding of government agencies is set to expire; conservatives aren’t happy with the immense cost.
It’s no secret the US is in quite the pinch, economically speaking. Sending $1.5 trillion down the drain at such a crucial time seems less than optimal of a move; although it’s not an unexpected one, considering Biden backed it.
Several news outlets reported that California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the soon-to-be House Speaker, has been the driving force behind spending cuts that Republicans are advocating for.
Another report showed the two parties are almost $25 billion apart in negotiations.

Trump needs to go “all in”
Bannon, one of Trump’s former advisors, suggested the bill, if it’s passed, would cripple the US economy, adding it’s the one policy battle the former president should be focusing on, instead of typing away on Truth Social.
As bad as it sounds, Bannon isn’t in the wrong. The sooner Trump starts actually fighting for this country, the closer he’ll be to actually retaking his place in the White House in the 2024 elections.
Trump’s popularity among Republicans has taken quite the hit with massive numbers of alternatives flowing in for the Republican primaries. Although the only real threat would be Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has yet to announce a campaign for the 2024 presidential elections.

While giving a statement to Newsweek, Bannon claimed that Trump needs to go all in if he’s serious about winning in 2024 and he should focus on the top priorities that conservatives have at the time.
The team running Bannon’s podcast was contacted for additional comments, but they haven’t sent out any official follow-up statements to what Bannon previously said.
Truth Social doesn’t have a future in the social media platform industry. It is evident by the dwindling amount of posts made on the platform every day, and once Trump gives up on it, it won’t be long for this world.
