“Outrageous Reform”: California Chairman Roasts Democrats’ Bill Giving Illegals Taxpayer-Funded State Jobs

A new California bill has sparked fierce backlash from conservatives, who argue that it prioritizes illegal immigrants over American citizens by allowing them to hold taxpayer-funded state jobs. The bill, introduced by Democratic lawmakers, aims to expand employment opportunities for undocumented residents within state-funded positions, a move that critics argue undermines the rights of legal residents and places additional financial burdens on taxpayers.

The legislation, which has been described as "outrageous" by Reform California Chairman Carl DeMaio, seeks to remove restrictions that currently prevent undocumented immigrants from being employed in state jobs. Proponents of the bill argue that it is a necessary step towards inclusivity and equity, ensuring that all residents, regardless of their immigration status, have access to economic opportunities. However, opponents see it as a blatant disregard for the rule of law and a misuse of taxpayer funds.

DeMaio, a prominent critic of the bill, emphasized that the legislation is an insult to law-abiding citizens who are struggling to find employment and make ends meet. "Instead of focusing on the needs of taxpaying citizens, the state is placing illegal immigrants at the front of the line," DeMaio stated, reflecting the sentiments of many Californians who feel betrayed by their state government. He further argued that the bill would incentivize illegal immigration by offering more benefits to those who enter the country unlawfully .

The financial implications of this bill are significant. California is already grappling with a $68 billion budget deficit, exacerbated by previous expansions of state-funded healthcare to undocumented immigrants.

Critics argue that adding the cost of employing undocumented workers in state jobs will further strain the state's finances and reduce the resources available for citizens and legal residents.

Supporters of the bill, including Democratic lawmakers and immigrant advocacy groups, contend that undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to the state's economy and deserve the same opportunities as other residents. They argue that the bill is a step towards rectifying systemic inequalities and ensuring that all Californians have the opportunity to thrive. State Senator María Elena Durazo, a vocal advocate for the bill, stated, "This historic investment speaks to California’s commitment to equity and justice for all its residents, regardless of immigration status".

The bill also faces legal challenges, with opponents questioning its compliance with federal immigration laws that restrict the employment of undocumented individuals. Federal law requires that all employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States, a requirement that the bill's critics argue cannot be bypassed by state legislation.

As the debate continues, the bill's fate remains uncertain. Its passage would mark a significant shift in California's approach to immigration and employment, setting a precedent that could influence other states. For now, the controversy surrounding the bill highlights the deep divisions over immigration policy and the challenges of balancing inclusivity with fiscal responsibility and legal compliance.

  1. When we get a Republican Majority in the House, Senate and Oval Office, Sanctuary Cities and States should be prohibited by Federal Law. No city or state should have the power to prevent Federal and State law enforcement and judicial systems from arresting and prosecuting criminals. By Federal Immigration Laws any person who stepped across that border without prior legal authorization committed a crime.
Much as Biden and Newsome would dearly love to be Dictators, the USA is still a free country governed by rule of laws not a banana republic that caters to the whims of power mad idiots.

  2. Do not vote for any existing state government official seeking re-election. They are definitely not representing you.
