President Biden tested positive for COVID on Thursday after his day-long trip to Massachusetts, where he announced massive climate spending.
The White House announced that Biden will work remotely until he has a negative COVID test.
Biden is COVID-Positive Now
According to a written statement released by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the president got COVID even though he was fully vaccinated and boosted twice.
Similarly, Jean-Pierre noted that Biden is facing mild symptoms, so he is taking Paxlovid. As long as he does not test negative, Biden will participate in White House meetings via Zoom and phone, the statement added.
Jean-Pierre also vowed to give daily updates on the president’s COVID status.

Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House COVID coordinator, said the president was tired and had a dry cough and a runny nose. Wednesday night, Dr. Jha continued, Biden went to bed fine, but was unable to sleep; then, he tested positive on Thursday.
According to the doctor, the president has an “extremely lower” risk of serious illness, due to his vaccination status.
While it remains unclear where Biden caught the virus, he was extensively traveling these days, which seems to be a possible reason for the disease.
Last week, he went to the Middle East and made an anti-hand-shake policy, claiming it would help him not to get COVID.
He also went to Massachusetts on Wednesday to deliver a climate speech and announce a massive $2.3 billion climate investment.
As the president tested negative on Tuesday before his Massachusetts visit, it is a firm possibility that he contracted the virus on his Wednesday trip.
So, the White House Medical Unit will inform all close contacts of Biden, as per the standard protocols, including lawmakers and others who were in close proximity to the president during his Wednesday trip to Massachusetts.

Multiple Lawmakers Accompanied Biden on His Trip
Massachusetts Democrats, including Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Ed Markey, Rep. Bill Keating, and Rep. Jake Auchincloss, traveled with the president on Air Force One during his trip.
Apart from them, various White House officials were also present on the plane. Auchincloss even posted his photo while shaking hands with the president on Wednesday.
Although Jean-Pierre was also present with the president on Air Force One, she still attended the White House daily briefing in person on Thursday.
Meanwhile, first lady Jill Biden tested negative and said she would keep her mask on. Biden’s trip to Massachusetts remained controversial for its hypocrisy, as he went to deliver a climate speech by polluting the environment with his long motorcade.
While criticizing the oil industry for defending his massive climate spending, Biden even said he has cancer due to the oil industry.
However, the White House corrected the president later on, saying he was talking about his old skin cancer disease, which has already been treated.
