Melania Trump Pushes Back on Claims From Former Aide

The events of January 6, 2021 continue to linger on. In real time, the congressional January 6 committee is holding hearings that directly discuss what they claim was Trump’s conduct during this time.

Reps. Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney, two key officials on the committee, accuse Trump of happily allowing violence to proceed. It is also the view of the committee that the former president ultimately took advantage of his supporters for his own power.

Naturally, Trump and his supporters have fiercely pushed back against these claims. Now, former first lady Melania Trump is wading into the conversation as well.

On Friday, the first lady directly pushed back against a former aide who accused her of not wanting to take any actions to stop the violence, per Breitbart News.

An Official Statement From Melania Trump

Stephanie Grisham previously served as the chief of staff to the former first lady. However, since then, Grisham’s gone on record, stating Melania Trump turned down the chance to speak out against the Capitol riots.

On Friday, the former first lady issued a statement that details her version of events. According to Trump, she was working in the White House at the time of the Capitol riots and not aware of what was happening.

The former first lady then communicated that if she had been aware of the situation, she would have fully condemned it.

Trump also claimed that her former chief of staff has a record of failure in various positions and is now trying to maintain relevance with her latest claims.

Likewise, the former first lady informed the country that Grisham wasn’t even in the White House during the Capitol riots and failed to provide details about what was transpiring.

More News to Come?

Earlier this week, Americans were informed the January 6 committee is planning many additional hearings. These hearings will take place in September and reportedly center around new information being revealed to the committee.

It remains to be seen whether or not additional claims about Melania Trump’s behavior during the January 6 riots come out.

However, in the former first lady’s statement, she alerted that Grisham is far from the only staffer to try to capitalize on the Trump name.

Many Americans have grown fed up with the January 6 committee, viewing it as more of a political stunt than a genuine body devoted to honest investigations.

Former President Trump, meanwhile, continues to maintain that the committee is biased and ultimately out to get him.
