The leading mainstream leftist media outlets in the United States have once again censored a huge news story that reveals crippling COVID-19 lockdowns have contributed practically nothing to the reduction of coronavirus deaths.

The data shows that the total lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic reduced coronavirus deaths by only 0.2%, while inflicting gigantic economic and social damages in the US and the UK.
Among the major news media, the shocking findings were covered only by Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Washington Times, Fortune, and the Daily Mail.
This got published in the January 2022 issue of the Studies in Applied Economics journal and authored by three researchers from Johns Hopkins University, Sweden’s Lund University, and the Center for Political Studies, a think-tank in Denmark.

1,800 Lives Saved by Lockdowns vs. 250,000 Lives Lost Due to Lockdowns
Dr. Martin Makary, another professor at Johns Hopkins University, lambasted those media institutions that didn’t even bother to report on it.
Makary told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that media outlets seem to have “their own narrative written” with respect to how effective lockdowns have been in saving lives.
The professor emphasized data from Northern Italy showed COVID-19 was disproportionately affecting certain groups of the population, such as the elderly and people with comorbidities.
However, this data that cast doubt on the need for total lockdowns at the time got “largely ignored”, Makary noted. In the state of New York, 80% of those who died of COVID were over 65 years of age, and about half of those deaths occurred in nursing homes.
However, he fumed, the authorities have been treating the coronavirus as though “everybody was at equal risk.” This is still the case today, including in schools where children are bearing the biggest brunt of it all.
Makary declared that society is “hungry for honesty”, and there should some “basic humility” on part of public health officials.
The professor of surgery emphasized further that the number of people whose lives were actually saved by total lockdowns in the spring of 2020 is nowhere near the number of lives lost because of the lack of healthcare, such as cancer patients who couldn’t get treatments.
In specific figures, he said some 1,800 lives were saved due to the lockdowns, while over the two years of the pandemic, America has suffered about 250,000 excess, non-COVID-related deaths.
In his words, about 60,000 to 70,000 of those are people who died of substance abuse; the rest perished as a result of “deferred cancer care,” or self-harm, or other “side effects” of the lockdowns.
