In a recent press release, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy rolled out a new agenda for House Republicans if the midterm elections go in their favor, with the “Commitment to America” ideology being akin to Trump’s MAGA narrative.
However, McCarthy’s plan isn’t exactly news. He’s been working on it since the start of 2020 when he spent months trying to put together a China Task Force, which was refused by House Democrats.
“Commitment to America” next on the agenda if Republicans retake the House
Moving forward on their own, Republicans used the task force model to bring about hundreds of policy recommendations during the Trump era, some of which are still in effect to this day.

Last year, at the Orlando House GOP retreat, McCarthy summarized the seven task forces to be formed, some of which focused on jobs and the state of the economy, whereas others would seek to improve security within the US.
Since then, these task forces have held a number of roundtable events, including briefings with policy experts and town halls across the country, allowing them to make continuous policy proposals in this time period.
During this year’s retreat in Ponte Vedra, McCarthy revealed a new rendition of Newt Gingrich’s “Contract With America”, with the four themes being: “An Economy that’s Strong”, “A Nation that’s Safe”, “A Future Built on Freedom,” and “An Accountable Government.”
The House GOP with Kevin McCarthy’s and the leadership team is unveiling a Commitment to America today. It will be as historic and as important as the Contract with America was in 1994. It addresses real issues like the crisis of higher prices, the border, and crime.

Massive changes are coming
The most notable of the four themes would be the first one, given the economic crisis we’re currently facing. It would aim to combat growing inflation in a much more effective manner than what Biden came up with.
Wasteful government spending would be curbed, allowing the prices of food, gas, and accommodation to settle down and possibly even return to their base values from before the inflation crisis caused by the Biden administration.
The second theme, “A Nation that’s Safe,” would focus on securing the border and combating illegal immigration, both of which have been pressing matters for a while now.
This would happen by bringing an end to the “catch-and-release” loopholes and eliminating welfare incentives that keep driving illegal aliens to cross the border.
The American people cannot afford another two years of Democrat control.

“A Future Built on Freedom“ will set its sights on making sure every student is given an equal chance for success. This hasn’t been the case ever since the wave of “woke” washed over our educational institutions.
Additionally, it would touch on the topic of women’s sports, which have been infiltrated by trans athletes identifying as women. The theme would make sure to even the playing field for all biologically female athletes.
Finally, the fourth theme would aim to preserve our constitutional freedoms, advocating for free speech and the right to bear arms, both of which have been all but taken away by “woke” policies of the Biden administration. This article appeared in The Record Daily and has been published here with permission.
