Skittles is one of the most popular candies to date. It can be found in virtually any grocery store, gas station, or other shop selling food.
For quite some time, Skittles have long been regarded as a harmless candy that can be consumed at each person’s discretion. After all, few people have truly regarded Skittles as threatening or dangerous.
However, that’s now coming to a change, as confirmed by Newsmax. The company behind the popular candy, Mars Inc., is currently on the receiving end of a class action lawsuit, one that warns about the dangers of consuming Skittles.
This has certainly got Americans talking nationwide.
Everything to Know About This Lawsuit
In the lawsuit against Mars Inc., Jenile Thames charges that Skittles are actually quite dangerous to consume and laced with titanium dioxide (TiO2) in order to keep Skittles lovers hooked on the candy.
Furthermore, Thames believes that as a result of TiO2 allegedly being within Skittles, Mars Inc. should be responsible for damages, owing to breach of California’s consumer protection laws, along with fraud itself.
This lawsuit indicates that Mars Inc. allegedly broke a promise made back in 2016. During October of this time, the company vowed the use of TiO2 in Skittles had been discontinued.

If Thames’ lawsuit pans out, then it would appear that Mars Inc. lied years ago, which could open up a new set of problems for the company.
Many people aren’t aware of the ins and outs of TiO2, but that doesn’t make it any less dangerous. When this substance is consumed, it can cause trauma to the kidney and liver. TiO2 likewise comes with the ability to damage organs, brains, and DNA.
It’s just not safe for anyone to be ingesting this, regardless of how good Skittles may taste.

Many Americans had a variety of responses to the litigation against Mars Inc.
Some people suggested Skittles is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dangerous products found in foods. Others noted how they stopped consuming Skittles and other candies years ago, due to health reasons.
Furthermore, there’s a school of thought that says all candy is unhealthy and people should ultimately be mindful when they’re consuming it.
