Thursday, erstwhile President Donald Trump blasted polls showing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis defeating him for the 2024 GOP nomination for president.
To publicly declare his candidacy, Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that brilliant polling has just been released on him vs. various others, along with President Joe Biden.
Still, Trump continues to deal with the exact same old “stuff” from The Wall Street Journal, which has managed to lose incalculable impact over the years, as well as Fox News, according to Trump’s version of events.
Poll After Poll
In a Wednesday-released Wall Street Journal survey, DeSantis topped Trump 52% to 38%. Fox News reported on a Wall Street Journal survey and a USA Today/Suffolk University poll in which DeSantis led Trump by 56% to 33% in a head-to-head matchup.
DeSantis, who is not anticipated to launch his candidacy until after the spring or early summer session of Florida’s legislative, has swiftly emerged as the main opposition to Trump among Republican primary voters.
He secured re-election last month by over 20 points against longtime Democratic rival Charlie Crist and he is undoubtedly Trump’s greatest foe.

Dan Eberhart, a GOP contributor who supports DeSantis, stated DeSantis is on the rise, and Trump is greatly worried that the Republican Party will abandon him.
He said Trump would not allow DeSantis to ascend to the throne without a battle, that nothing other than a civil war is imminent inside the Republican base.
All the polls are snippets in time and Trump’s backers stress the primaries are over a year away, pointing out that other polls have Trump in a far better situation.
Never Count Out Trump
An individual close to Trump stated, “For every terrible poll, there is a positive poll.” Trump is the only candidate in the race at the moment.
A representative for DeSantis refused to comment. The prospective head-to-head confrontations assume Trump and DeSantis are the sole candidates supported by Republican primary voters.
Ex-Vice President Mike Pence, ex-U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, as well as ex-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, are just a few of the numerous Republican figures who are considering a run for president.
Trump is correct that certain polls indicate his favorable status, especially if the field is crowded.
Wednesday’s publication of a Politico/Morning Consult survey showed him at 45%, opposed to 30% for DeSantis, 7% for Pence, and the remaining 12% among a dozen other contenders.
I’m a Trump supporter because I love disruptors. Trump is feared by the establishment. DeSantis is not. That’s why Jeb Bush & Paul Ryan love DeSantis.
While I wish Trump was more critical of the COVID death jab, it is very dishonest to pretend like DeSantis never pushed it too. pic.twitter.com/8kcYPbnWuB

A GOP consultant who served on Trump’s 2020 campaign compared DeSantis’ early lead to then-Texas Governor Rick Perry’s rapidly eroding advantage over the GOP field in the early stages of the 2012 primary.
DeSantis is now in a “really good position,” according to the strategist, but he may not have the time to “harness that enthusiasm.”
The analyst noted it has yet to be seen if DeSantis can endure an attack from the former president, citing Trump’s penchant for vicious political battles.
